GHEARD is a modular curriculum for global health trainees and providers that is being published by the American Academy of Pediatrics in collaboration with the Association of Pediatric Program Directors and the Consortium of Universities for Global Health. It was created by a large and distinguished author group with representatives across the education spectrum and around the world. GHEARD seeks to prompt critical reflection and analysis and create important conversations across global health training spaces that will focus on strengthening global collaboration and developing skills for teaching the GHEARD curriculum at home institutions. By discussing and reflecting on important topics, global health practitioners will be more aware of their role and learn to center their voices around expert colleagues in global settings to work toward a world where all children and their families have access to health care and the basic services, they need to thrive.
During the virtual facilitator training, attendees will learn to enhance their global health practices through self-reflection and thoughtful conversations. Through critical reflections and facilitating important conversations within global health training spaces, the training will focus on strengthening global collaboration and developing skills for teaching the GHEARD curriculum at home institutions.
