About the Author: Elizabeth Hewett Brumberg, MD, FAAP, is the medical director of the Emergency Department Preparedness and a faculty physician in the Division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. She is a member of the AAP Council on Children and Disasters and serves as the vice chair of the First Aid Sub Council within the American Red Cross Scientific Advisory Council.
