Welcome to the AAP Section on Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition (SOGHN) website.  The Section is the home for over pediatric gastroenterologists, primary care physicians (PCPs) with an interest in gastroenterology, and fellows in training.  We are currently over 700 members strong!

Our goal is to strengthen the partnerships between PCPs and pediatric gastroenterologists by developing and promoting evidence-based clinical approaches, developing and delivering educational content and using the resources of the AAP for effective advocacy. In all that we do, diversity, equity and inclusion are core principles of the SOGHN.

The SOGHN has 9 active committees to help us accomplish our goal:  Trainees and Early Career Gastroenterologists Committee;  Clinical Education Programming Committee;  Communications/Website Committee;  “Community Consult” Chapter Speakers Program Committee;  Policy Statements and Guidelines Committee; Advocacy/Annual Leadership Forum Resolution and Proposals Committee;  Button Battery and Foreign Body Committee; Patient and Family Education Committee and the  Choosing Wisely Committee.  Please let me (mcohen@uabmc.edu) know if you are interested in joining the SOGHN and/or in serving on one of these committees.

We welcome you to surf this site and to become engaged in the SOGHN!
