​Section Membership is open to the following Member types:

• Candidate Members
• Corresponding Fellows
• Fellows
• Fellowship Trainees
• Honorary Fellows
• International Members
• Medical Students
• National Affiliates
• Residents
• Senior Members
• Specialty Fellows

Dues/year:
Medical Students - $0*
Residents - $10*
All other National member types - $30*
Section Affiliates - $30

*In addition to national dues

Special Requirements: Must be interested in improving the health and well-being of children and families by reducing the prevalence of childhood obesity and promoting healthy active living.​

Section Affiliate Membership

The Section on Obesity welcomes affiliate members including dietitians, nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants (not otherwise eligible for National Membership), public health practitioners, physical therapists, exercise physiologists, and social workers.

Affiliate applicants must submit:

• Copy of medical license
• A letter of recommendation from an AAP Fellow or Specialty Fellow demonstrating active engagement in pediatric obesity care.
