The Female Leadership and Excellence in Pediatric Subspecialties (FLEXPeds) was developed as a community of female pediatric subspecialists from 31 AAP sections who support each other in their work, careers, and lives. The group’s goal is to discuss, design and identify solutions to address gender inequity in pediatric subspecialties.

In April, the group met for the first Virtual Summit. With ~45 people in attendance the summit included dynamic presentations from leaders in women in medicine and time for the participants to network and plan the future of the group. Below is information that was created during the summit.
