Early Career Leadership Institute

The AAP Early Career Leadership Institute (ECLI) is a leadership development program designed to help early career pediatricians grow from emerging professionals into strategic, engaged leaders who can advance child health through the Academy. Through a structured cohort experience, participants clarify their career vision, strengthen their leadership voice and self-advocacy, deepen their understanding of leadership pathways, and build the systems-thinking skills needed to navigate influence, relationships, and organizational change. ECLI reflects the Academy’s commitment to cultivating a diverse, inclusive leadership pipeline by equipping early career physicians with the confidence, connections, and practical tools to contribute meaningfully to the Academy’s mission.
