Dues/year:
Medical Students - $0*
Residents - $10*
All other National member types - $30*
Section Affiliates - $30

*In addition to national dues

Special Requirements: Must be interested in improving the health and well-being of children and families by reducing the prevalence of childhood obesity and promoting healthy active living.​

Section Affiliate Membership

The Section on Obesity welcomes affiliate members including dietitians, nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants (not otherwise eligible for National Membership), public health practitioners, physical therapists, exercise physiologists, social workers, psychologists, academics/academic researchers, and physicians (not otherwise eligible for National Membership).

Affiliate applicants must submit:

  • Proper certification and/or licensure, as relevant to the individual's field
  • A letter of recommendation from an AAP Fellow or Specialty Fellow demonstrating active engagement in pediatric obesity care
