The AAP Section on Orthopaedics (SOOr) Global Mentored Scholarship Program provides one annual award of up to $1,500 to support a senior resident, orthopaedic fellow, or junior faculty member (within three years of completing training) who is interested in providing musculoskeletal care to children in resource-limited regions of the world. The program facilitates mentored global health experiences for early-career surgeons and is made possible through a generous grant from K2M Corporation.

Applicants must identify a mentor who is a member of the SOOr and submit a post-project report. Scholarship recipients will also be expected to present and discuss their experience in person at the AAP National Conference & Exhibition the following year. The application period is October 1 through November 30 (11:59 PM Central Time), and recipients will be notified no later than mid-January.
