Description of program/project
The Harborview Foster Care Center of Excellence is a trauma informed medical home for children currently or previously in foster or kinship care with integrated behavioral health care. We partner with Coordinated Care, the single managed care plan for foster children in Washington State to provide enhanced care management services when needed. The Foster Care Consultation clinic provides comprehensive medical and psychological evaluations for children across the State through a contract with the Department of Children Youth and Families.

Program/Project strengths
We provide a tiered service so we can do initial health evaluations on entry to foster care, primary care with health care home model, and also comprehensive medical/psychological assessments for more complex needs. We also partner with the Harborview Center on Abuse and Trauma to ensure patients have access to evidence based trauma therapy services when indicated.
Program/Project challenges
We have a high demand for comprehensive consultative visits and are looking for funding to support expansion of this service.
