Advocacy is largely driven by passion related to solving a specific problem or working to ensure the voice of a specific population is heard.  Some pediatricians discover their passion for advocacy during their residency training, however others become passionate about a given topic based on their experiences in clinical practice.

Regardless of where your advocacy journey starts, the goal of this roadmap is to learn the steps and skills required for successful advocacy within your community.

Community advocacy includes a distinct set of skills included in this roadmap from defining your community, cultivating partnerships and then working with those partners to address health concerns that can produce measurable results for your patients and their families.
