The mission of the COIVPP is to reduce the number of injuries, whether intentional or unintentional, to infants, children, adolescents, and young adults.

The Council will achieve this mission by identifying leading causes of injury, developing policy and resources for effective prevention, educating and engaging the pediatric community including families, advocating for public policy change, creating synergistic collaborations with partner organizations, and providing value to its membership.

Children are free from physical and psychological injuries and their consequences, and are living to their full potential.

Core Values

  • Injuries to children can and should be prevented.
  • All children deserve to grow up in safe, stable, and nurturing environments and relationships
