Past Leadership Training Offerings

Acknowledging the importance of equity in leadership  training, the SOECP paused applications for the Young Physicians Leadership Alliance (YPLA) in early 2021. Members currently enrolled in the YPLA will complete the full course as planned and graduate in the fall of 2021 and 2022. We welcome AAP members to visit the Early Career Physicians Leadership Projects Virtual Poster Hall to appreciate the incredible work of our 2020 and 2021 graduates of the YPLA. The resilience and perseverance each showed in the most trying of times is worth celebrating. The YPLA Leadership Program is funded through the generosity of the AAP Insurance Program. (Note: AAP login is required to visit the Virtual Poster Hall.)

In 2021, the SOECP selected members for a new leadership programming advisory group that will advise on the formation of a new leadership program or set of programs that align with the SOECP’s and Academy’s commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion. The group will envision program curricula, selection processes, and accessibility through an equity lens. The goal is to leverage the success of the YPLA to create a new offering that is relevant and impactful for early career physicians, especially those that are underrepresented in pediatrics.
