About SOATT

The Section on Advances in Therapeutics and Technology (SOATT) strengthens the American Academy of Pediatrics’ mission to attain optimal health and well-being for all infants, children, adolescents, and young adults. SOATT advances innovation across the pediatric lifespan by bringing together diverse voices and perspectives across medicine, science, technology and policy to accelerate progress in therapeutics and medical devices, inclusive of digital health technologies..

We foster discovery, development, and integration of breakthrough ideas and emerging science by cultivating collaboration and facilitating the exchange of essential knowledge. We envision a future where transformative advances are rapidly understood, responsibly adopted, and equitably accessible – ensuring no child is left behind.

Innovation should drive science forward and deepen the human connection, enriching the practice of medicine and delivering better outcomes for every child and their family.

Our members represent a diverse community - clinicians, academic researchers, industry leaders, and policy advocates, no matter the stage in their careers. We encourage advances in pediatric health and create the space where they take root and grow.
