Dear SOEPHE Members

I hope many of you attended the annual AAP National Conference and Exhibition (NCE) in Denver this year. There was a lot of energy with members of the AAP coming together to use the strength of epidemiology and evidence to address the public health needs of infants, children, teens, and young adults in these times of mis-, dis-, and mal-information. This is what we in SOEPHE are focused on, and it is the underpinning of all the work of the AAP.

I urge you to join us as we move ahead. It is up to you, the membership, to help drive our agenda and our activities. Meet us at our virtual meetings. Please join us in our educational and membership committees, in responding to requests for review of documents, and looking ahead, in submitting your work for future SOEPHE Poster Session at the AAP National Conference. Help us focus on and highlight the work in public health that you do on a daily basis.

And if you have a focus on methodology and/or want to learn more about how AAP is using the GRADE approach for systematic review and guideline development, we want to hear from you as AAP moves ahead in this arena.

Carolyn McCarty, PhD, Senior Manager, Clinical Practice Guideline Methodology & Operations, recently joined us as our AAP staff manager. We are thrilled she is now on board. Please feel free to reach out to her using the contact us form found here if you have questions or concerns.

Thank you for all you do every day. Please keep in touch.
