The AAP National Coordinating Center for Epilepsy (Center) is accepting applications for Promising Practices which is defined as an approach or method that demonstrates promise to enhance the quality of care for children and youth with epilepsy (CYE). These strategies, designed to be implemented by pediatric health professionals (eg, pediatricians, pediatric subspecialists, nonphysician clinicians, public health practitioners, school nurses, and social workers), aim to improve access to coordinated and comprehensive care for CYE across the lifespan. The intention of this initiative is to collect and showcase innovative, practical, and replicable strategies that can positively impact the overall care and well-being of CYE.

Why Submit?  Your submission contributes to advancing the goals of the Center and provides a platform for recognition, collaboration, and professional growth. By sharing your work, you will:

  • Demonstrate your commitment to enhancing care for CYE.
  • Share your successful practices/strategies, including any challenges and lessons learned.
  • Contribute practical and innovative implementation strategies to elevate the quality of care for CYE.
  • Support pediatric health professionals in implementing similar strategies within their clinics/practices.

Submission Process: Please complete this application. Upon submission, AAP Center staff will follow-up with you to address any additional questions or details that may be needed. Following review, submissions will be featured in the Center’s bi-monthly newsletter and select promising practices will also have the opportunity to present at future Center events.
