As part of the Building a Foundation for Healthy Active Living project, a suite of multimedia assets was created to support pediatricians and other professionals in engaging families and increasing awareness and knowledge around key healthy active living behaviors. These resources, which include infographics, videos and social media graphics, were designed so providers can use them in their clinic or community offices, via websites and social media, or as print outs in one-on-one interactions. Funding for this project was made possible by grants from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Find more resources about Educating and Engaging Parents and Families. [Project Completed]

Impact: In the first few months of the launch of these materials the family education materials have had over 100,000 impressions on social media, the videos were viewed almost 10,000 times, and over 5,000 copies of the infographics were distributed to primary care providers.

Engaging families in early obesity prevention

Through the Healthy Active Living for Families (HALF) project, resources were designed that incorporate parent feedback and expert recommendations. These resources include extensive web-based resources and interactive widgets for families of infants, toddlers and preschoolers. Content is parent informed, age-appropriate, plain language, strength based and evidence-informed. This project was funded by a grant from Nestlé Nutrition Institute. Impact: This flagship project filled a critical gap in knowledge and resources around early obesity prevention and has been foundational in much of our family-focused work moving forward.
