RSV Immunization Implementation Resources

As nirsevimab and clesrovimab are the first products of their kind, there are many things to consider when implementing in a clinical setting. Below are various resources to support implementation in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

Hospital/Inpatient Resources

• Association of Immunization Managers – Birthing Institutions and the Vaccines for Children Program: Learn more about the Vaccines for Children Program, how it works, and why birthing institutions should participate in order to provide RSV immunization to infants. 

General Resources

• RSV Immunization Administration Visual Guide: Use this to help determine if and what dose is needed for administration.
• Immunization Information Statement: Provide this VIS-like information to parents/caregivers when administering RSV immunization.
• Immunization Facts for Families: The AAP provides Immunization Facts for Families, one-page handouts that can be provided to families during immunization conversations or after immunization administration. Available in English and Spanish.
• Immunization Resources for Hospital-Based Clinicians Who Care for Newborns: View AAP resources for hospital-based clinicians on RSV and hepatitis B immunization and vitamin K administration.
• Vaccine Refusal/Declination form: Document declination from any patient who is eligible (use the “other” category).
