Simulation Program: Menu of Services

The AAP Simulation Program offers hands-on, immersive educational experiences using advanced simulators, standardized patients, virtual/augmented reality, and other state-of-the-art technology. These events are supported by the AAP simulation staff and can also be in collaboration with the AAP Section on Simulation & Innovative Learning Methods (SoSILM). Simulation can be integrated into educational learning. Standalone simulation support can also be offered.

Event Design

Curriculum Development

Identify the appropriate use of simulation-based education for a need or gap.
Develop learning objectives and goals.
Recommend simulation modalities (method of delivery) to meet educational objectives. The AAP Simulation Program offers various modalities to deliver simulation and clinical skills.

Simulation Lab at Headquarters (Itasca, Illinois)

The AAP Simulation Lab can be used for video filming, course delivery, clinical skills labs, and other education opportunities that align with simulation-based educational goals.
Audio and Visual Recording System
- Capture audio, video, annotations, patient monitors, and simulator data through the AV recording system in the AAP Simulation Lab. Broadcast simulation events from the AAP Simulation Lab to your audience to facilitate distance, or telesimulation.
