Strategic Priorities
Commercial Payer Engagement and Advocacy
- Develop a national strategy, leveraging data to underscore the value of improving investment and payment in child health
- Address key issues impacting payment flow and appropriateness
- Delineate essential coverage to be provided by all health plans and optimal coverage provided by high performing plans
Value Based Care (VBC) Recommendations
- Identify core attributes of VBC that are unique to the care of children
- Propose novel benefit and incentive structures to achieve value in pediatric care
- Harmonize a core set of Clinical Quality Measures across payers
Member Resource Development
- Design education, resources, and programs relevant to the financial health of clinicians, practices, and systems
- Strengthen processes and infrastructure for the valuation of pediatric health services
Federal and State Payment and Coverage Advocacy
- Preserve and strengthen Medicaid and CHIP financing, leveraging data to underscore the value of investment in child health.
- Advocate to raise Medicaid payments
- Protect and promote coverage and access
- Support efforts to alleviate administrative burdens that decrease access and increase clinician burden
Employer Engagement
- Engage employers and benefit designers around the comprehensive provision of health benefits to meet the unique needs of children and families
- Promote adequate payment for child health services
