Editor in Chief

Robert M. Insoft, MD, FAAP

Dr. Insoft is the Senior Vice-President for Medical Affairs and Quality at Women & Infants Hospital where he is also a practicing neonatologist. He is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the Brown University Alpert Medical School.

He served 2 elected terms as Chair of the AAP’s Section on Transport Medicine and co-chaired and spoke/taught at multiple Academy, PREP and other regional, national/international conferences. He has authored numerous research articles and chapters, many on quality improvement and transport medicine.

Associate Editor

Hamilton P. Schwartz, MD, MEd, FAAP, FACEP

Dr. Schwartz is a board-certified physician in Pediatrics, Pediatric Emergency Medicine, and Emergency Medical Services. He is an Associate Professor of Clinical Pediatrics at Cincinnati Children’s where he has worked for 16 years.

Dr. Schwartz has been serving on the Ohio Medical Transportation Board as a governor-appointed member since 2009.  He served two terms as an elected executive committee member of The American Academy of Pediatrics Section of Transport Medicine from 2010-2014.

He has been the Pediatric Medical Director of the Cincinnati Fire Department since 2005 and the Medical Director of the Cincinnati Children’s Critical Care Transport Team since 2007.  Most recently, Dr. Schwartz was named the Medical Director of the Division of Emergency Medicine at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital.

He lives in Cincinnati with his physician wife and two young children.

Janice Romito, MSN, NNP

Jan is a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner receiving her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas Health Science Center – Houston.

Jan was a member of the content team creating the Neonatal Pediatric Transport Team certification exam with the National Certification Corporation.  Jan was a co-editor for the third edition of the NANN transport guidelines. She co-authored several chapters of the third edition of the Guidelines for Air and Ground Transport and served as a special consultant for the fourth edition of the Guidelines for Air and Ground Transport published by the American Academy of Pediatrics.
