The AAP has developed a “Cost Calculator” with members to help provide insight into costs that influence contract negotiations. This tool should be used alongside other practice processes, not as a replacement for other strategic planning and team discussions.

Specifically, this calculator is intended to help calculate costs per RVU for Evaluation and Management (E/M) services; this provides a simple method for evaluating any contracts that have a payment methodology based on the Medicare fee schedule.
