COURSE DESCRIPTION

This one-day intensive course provides an advanced, in-depth exploration of complex pediatric mental health conditions across six critical areas: ADHD, Anxiety, Depression, Autism, Eating Disorders, and Psychopharmacology. Through expert-led sessions and real-world case discussions, participants will deepen their knowledge and gain practical tools, evidence-based insights, and collaborative strategies to enhance care for children and adolescents with multifaceted mental health needs. This course is designed for experienced clinicians seeking to expand their skills in managing complex and treatment-resistant cases.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Evaluate complex presentations of ADHD, anxiety, autism, depression, and eating disorders in pediatric patients using advanced diagnostic and assessment strategies.
  • Implement evidence-based psychopharmacologic and identify psychotherapeutic interventions to optimize treatment outcomes for children and adolescents with multifaceted mental health conditions.
  • Apply interdisciplinary and collaborative care approaches to effectively manage co-occurring or treatment-resistant pediatric mental health disorders.
  • Develop individualized care plans using practical tools and clinical decision-making strategies to enhance patient outcomes in complex cases.

The new American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) Pediatric Mental Health Education Center (PMHEC) seeks to equip pediatricians with the knowledge, confidence, and skills to care for their patients’ mental health. Thanks to support from the Morgan Stanley Foundation, a limited number of scholarships are available for clinicians working in Medically Underserved Areas (MUAs) after the completion of 10 total hours of mental health education and training (this live course and additional asynchronous courses). These $1,000 scholarships can help defray the costs of participation in this program. Registration Confirmation 

Your registration will be confirmed. Please contact the AAP Registration Area if you do not receive a confirmation within 7 days. The AAP cannot be responsible for expenses incurred by an individual who is not confirmed and for whom space is not available at this course. The AAP reserves the right to cancel a course due to unforeseen circumstances or to limit enrollments, should attendance exceed capacity. Course educational sessions are open only to registered attendees.

CANCELLATIONS

Registration cancellations for this course must be received in writing at [email protected] no later than 4/2/26 to receive a refund. An administrative fee of $50 will be deducted. Refunds will not be issued if the pre-course, on-demand sessions, or materials have been accessed by the registrant at any time.
