COURSE DESCRIPTION

There is a significant gap in medical education regarding fundamental business knowledge, especially in outpatient pediatric care. To address this need, 2026 Pediatric Practice Essentials: A Virtual Course in Navigating the Business of Outpatient Care aims to equip participants with foundational business and management knowledge.

Course Learning Objectives 

At the conclusion of this course, participants will be able to:

  1. Accurately interpret practice financial data, manage budgets, optimize revenue cycle processes, and support the financial health of outpatient pediatric practices by applying foundational business and financial literacy principles.
  2. Develop and implement effective human resources strategies, lead teams, design efficient staffing models and workflows, and utilize quality improvement methods to enhance operational effectiveness and promote high-quality care.
  3. Apply correct coding and documentation standards, leverage EHR tools, reduce claim denials, and successfully navigate credentialing, contracting, and payer negotiations to improve compliance, coding accuracy, and payer relations.
  4. Lead sustainable, patient-centered practice growth through effective risk management, adherence to legal and regulatory requirements, long-term financial planning, and strategic engagement with payers.

The AAP reserves the right to cancel a course due to unforeseen circumstances or to limit enrollments, should attendance exceed capacity. Course educational sessions are open only to registered attendees.

CANCELLATION:
