The Essential Care for Small Babies Facilitator Set package includes:

• 1 Facilitator Flip Chart: an educational tool for ECSB Facilitators (teachers) to teach essential small baby care to health care providers (e.g. trained birth attendants) in resource-limited environments
• 1 Action Plan Wall Poster (included within Flip Chart)
• 1 Provider Guide: a document that assists health care providers in preparing for an ECSB training course and also equips providers with skills and tools to make changes and improve small baby care in their facilities
• 1 Parent Guide: an important educational and skill-building resource for parents of low birthweight or premature newborns

Essential Care for Small Babies (ECSB) is a training program designed specifically for teaching the care of small babies; based on latest WHO guidelines. Developed by the American Academy of Pediatrics, the curriculum begins after birth throughout the first day of life, until the time of discharge.

ECSB provides effective training using graphic training materials and interactive, hands-on simulation.

Combine ECSB with the Helping Babies Breathe and Essential Care for Every Baby curricula to ensure that every health worker is prepared to resuscitate and provide essential care to all babies.
