Nationwide, unintentional injuries are the leading cause of death and disability among children. Because early care and education settings are considered a safe space for young children, it is important for Early Care and Education (ECE) providers to continue to learn about safety and injury prevention standards.
This course is designed for early care and education providers and other staff. ECE providers play a major role in preventing injuries by creating safe, responsive environments where young children can learn, grow, and explore. This course equips ECE professionals with practical strategies to recognize, prevent, and respond to common injuries across indoor and outdoor settings. Through three focused modules, learners will strengthen their understanding of safety best practices, develop skills to identify and reduce hazards, and gain confidence in reporting and managing injuries when they occur. By building a strong foundation in injury prevention, providers can ensure that every child’s daily experiences are enriching and safe.
