The primary objective of this course is to equip learners with the knowledge and tools to identify and address systemic and personal factors that contribute to health disparities, and to promote equitable pediatric health outcomes through upstream, clinical, and systemic interventions.

Learners will be able to:

  • Define the “upstream” approach and its role in promoting pediatric health equity.
  • Recognize systemic racism as a fundamental force shaping social determinants of health and a key driver of disparities in pediatric outcomes
  • Examine personal practice patterns and influences that may contribute to inequitable outcomes for children
  • Identify strategies to advance clinical and systemic equity in pediatric health care for communities served
