SOD Membership Criteria

​Section Membership is open to the following Member types: 

• Candidate Members
• Corresponding Fellows
• Fellows
• Fellowship Trainees
• Honorary Fellows
• National Affiliates
• Residents
• Senior Members
• Specialty Fellows​

Dues / Year:

• Medical Students - $0*
• Residents: $10*
• National Members: $25*
• Section Affiliates: $60

*In addition to national AAP dues

Specialty Fellows 

Physicians certified by a recognized specialty board other than pediatrics who devote at least 50% of their professional time to the care of pediatric-aged patients. Must be a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) or meet the qualifications for fellowship in the AAD. 

Applicants must submit:

• Copy of Board Certification

• Proof of membership with AAD (American Academy of Dermatology)

• Documentation verifying that he or she has completed one full year of general pediatric training OR one full year of a pediatric dermatology fellowship.​

Section Affiliate membership

Licensed MDs, DOs, RNs, PAs or PhDs in the United States or Canada who are otherwise ineligible for AAP membership, and who can document that at least 50% of their clinical, research or educational time is in the pursuit of pediatric dermatology.​

Affiliates must submit:

• A copy of license from the relevant field.

• Two letters of support from members of the Section on Dermatology, or one letter of support from a Chairperson or head of a hospital department of pediatrics.

• A current curriculum vitae, and summary listing of all publications and research.
