LEARNING OBJECTIVES

By attending the Celebration of Pediatric Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine course, you will:

  • Be able to discuss the causes of non-CF bronchiectasis, develop a diagnostic approach, and implement a treatment plan based on current guidelines. 
  • Be able to discuss epidemiology, pathophysiology, clinical features, diagnosis, and management of chest wall differences including pectus abnormalities, thoracic dystrophies, and scoliosis. 
  • Be able to discuss an evidence-based approach to common sleep disorders including narcolepsy, insomnias/parasomnias, and restless limb syndrome/periodic limb movement disorder. 
  • Be able to discuss current guidelines for the diagnosis and management of community acquired and atypical pneumonias. 
  • Be able to discuss new Cystic Fibrosis Foundation consensus recommendations for newborn screening for cystic fibrosis.  

By participating in the course, you will be able to:  

  • Attend 8 general session lectures and 8 concurrent seminars.
  • Ask the faculty members questions about challenges that you encounter in practice, either during the scheduled question and answer sessions or during session breaks.
  • Access and download syllabus material/presentation slides provided by the faculty.
  • Participate in all scheduled meals and breaks, as listed in the course schedule.
  • Visit the exhibitors onsite.

Special group rates beginning at $299 per night, plus tax, for single or double standard guest room, have been negotiated at the Clearwater Beach Sheraton Resort on Sand Key. These rates represent substantial savings from published rates. Find your oasis on this tropical paradise with 13 acres of private white beach sand or enjoy a stunning sunset. Enjoy the newly refurbished guest rooms with most rooms having a balcony, and onsite activies including outdoor pool, children’s pool, beach volleyball, or visit the onsite fitness center. The resort is steps away from Sand Key Park nature trails and surf ready beaches. Or visit the famous Pier 60, Clearwater Marine Aquarium, or a dolphin watching tour or sunset cruise.

The cutoff date for reservations at the group rate is Wednesday, January 27, 2027. Some or all dates in our discounted room block may become sold-out prior to the deadline. Either book online or call the hotel directly to make your reservations. 

Please be aware that the room block may be filled prior to January 27, 2027; in such a case, neither the group rate nor guest room availability can be guaranteed. The AAP, therefore, recommends that you make your reservations as early as possible.

Ground Transportation: Ride share, taxis and rental cars are available from Tampa International Airport (TPA) and St Petersburg-Clearwater International Airport (PIE).  

Parking: Discounted self-parking is available for $10 per car per night. 

Electronic Course Syllabus

The syllabus will be available online to all attendees for download in advance of and after the course. Printed copies of the syllabus are available for purchase during registration and can be picked up on site.

Your registration will be confirmed. Please contact the AAP Registration Area if you do not receive a confirmation within 7 days. The AAP cannot be responsible for expenses incurred by an individual who is not confirmed and for whom space is not available at this course. The AAP reserves the right to cancel a course due to unforeseen circumstances or to limit enrollments, should attendance exceed capacity. Course educational sessions are open only to registered attendees.

Cancellations

Requests for registration cancellations for this course must be emailed to [email protected] no later than February 11, 2027.  A $75 administrative fee will be deducted from all refunds.  No refunds will be issued after February 12, 2027.  Refunds will not be issued if course materials have been accessed by the registrant at any time. 

The AAP is not responsible for any fees incurred due to travel cancellations, disruptions, or other unforeseen incidents.  All attendees are strongly encouraged to purchase personal travel insurance.

PAs may claim a maximum of 21.00 Category 1 credits for completing this activity. NCCPA accepts AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ from organizations accredited by ACCME or a recognized state medical society.

This program is accredited for 21.00 NAPNAP CE contact hours of which 0.00 contain pharmacology (Rx) content, (0.00 related to psychopharmacology) (0.00 related to controlled substances), per the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners (NAPNAP) Continuing Education Guidelines. The AAP is designated as Agency #A17. Upon completion of the program, each participant desiring NAPNAP contact hours must send a completed certificate of attendance to [email protected].
