The mission of the Section on Tobacco Control is to raise awareness about the importance of and to create support for pediatricians, other physicians, and health providers in the prevention of tobacco product initiation and exposure, treatment of dependence, and elimination of children's exposure to tobacco and nicotine and their emissions.
Children and families will lead tobacco free lives.
- Provide education for pediatricians, other physicians, and non-physician clinicians to prevent, treat and reduce exposure to tobacco and secondhand smoke.
- Equip pediatricians, other physicians, and non-physician clinicians to effectively prevent, treat, and reduce exposure to tobacco and secondhand smoke.
- Develop and promote tobacco prevention and control policy and evidence-based best practices.
- Provide education to support families in preventing, treating, and reducing exposure to tobacco and secondhand smoke.
