Award for Outstanding Service to Maltreated Children
The Award for Outstanding Service to Maltreated Children is given to a pediatrician or pediatric subspecialist who has demonstrated outstanding clinical care and service to abused and neglected children and their families, ideally at the local or regional level. The individual must be a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
The recipient of the award receives a $500 honorarium, a plaque and specified travel expenses to attend the annual American Academy of Pediatrics National Conference and Exhibition, for the award presentation.
Ray E. Helfer, MD, Award
This distinguished award, which is co-sponsored with the National Alliance for Children's Trust and Prevention Funds, will be given to a pediatrician who has made a demonstrated contribution to preventing child abuse before it occurs and is involved with activities related to the work of Children's Trust Funds.
