Mission Statement

The mission of the American Academy of Pediatrics Section on Allergy and Immunology is to ensure that pediatric-aged patients receive the highest quality of care in allergy, asthma, and immunology. This will be accomplished by serving Section constituents through education, communication, and representation of the highest quality.

​​Join the Section

Membership in the Section is open to all AAP Fellows, Life Fellows, Corresponding Fellows, Honorary Fellows, CPA/AAP Dual Fellows, Emeritus Fellows, and Retired Fellows who are board-certified by the American Board of Allergy and Immunology (ABAI) and the American Board of Pediatrics. A copy of the ABAI certificate is required with the Section application. Candidate Fellows* and Post Residency Training Fellows** are also eligible for membership by submitting a letter from their training program director to verify their status along with a completed application. Fellows (FAAP) who are enrolled in or who successfully complete an ACGME-certified allergy-immunology training program are eligible for Section membership for up to five years. Complete the Section Application and the AAP application (if you are not a member already).

The section has approximately 200 members and currently does not accept affiliate members. Dues are annually assessed at $25. For more information about becoming a section member, contact us here.

*Candidate Fellows must have completed an Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education-accredited allergy-immunology training (fellowship) program. One can remain a Candidate Fellow up to the limits set forth in the AAP bylaws or until ABAI certification is obtained, whichever comes first. (To qualify for the ABAI exam, one must be ABP- or ABIM-certified.) **Post Residency Training Fellows are eligible for Section membership if they are currently in an allergy-immunology training (fellowship) program.​​​
