National Children's Mental Health Awareness Day

5/5/2014

National Children's Mental Health Awareness Day

The AAP joins the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) and other national and community organizations in celebrating National Children's Mental Health Awareness Day on May 8. The 2014 theme is Inspiring Resilience, Creating Hope.

Mental health is as important as physical health for children, teens, and young adults, and families are encouraged to talk with their pediatrician about it.
