Studies have found that at least four out of every ten toddlers and children are vitamin D deficient. Luckily, there’s an easy way to ensure children get enough of this important vitamin. Just get outside, in the sunshine, and our bodies will naturally produce more vitamin D. So here are some tips to get you and your children outside - and be sure to use your sunscreen too! Try taking story time outside. Pull up a chair or sit on a porch - you’re likely to find eager listeners ready for a story. This
is also a great time to take messy fun outdoors. Finger painting,
paper mache - being outside makes clean up a lot easier. Involve your
kids in gardening. Let them choose a few vegetables to plant. Then help them tend to the plants and harvest the rewards.
