​​​​The Firends of Children Fund

The Friends of Children Fund of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) supports programs and initiatives providing assistance to improve the health and well-being of ALL children.  The AAP has a long history of supporting children and our members through research, education, resident programs, disaster relief efforts and international activities, amongst others.  The generosity of members and friends including corporations and foundations helps the AAP to remain a strong voice for children.

Support Priority Projects
Since its inception, the Friends of Children Fund (FCF) has allowed the AAP to aggressively respond to emerging child health issues and has raised over $10 million in grants to support AAP priorities including:

  • Access to children's health services
  • Education of families and pediatricians
  • Provision of research grants
  • Supporting advocacy and the advancement of pediatrics
  • Responding to health crises such as Flint, MI water and the Zika Virus

Build a Relationship and Benefit from Involvement

Corporate members have access to leaders in pediatrics with opportunities to develop and strengthen relationships with the Academy and network with AAP leadership.  Support for the Corporate Friends of Children Fund enable members to learn about and participate in programs across the Academy that advance its mission to ensure the health and well-being of all children.


The AAP recognizes the importance of corporate members' support of the Friends of Children Fund. Corporate members receive significant acknowledgement, increasing visibility among the more than 66,000 AAP members.  The benefits of membership in the Corporate Friends of Children Fund are outlined on the following pages.
