Program Description
The purpose of this project is to improve access to medical care and other health-related services (e.g. mental health, developmental) for Baltimore City children with suspected child physical abuse and neglect and their families by developing a Baltimore Citywide Child Protection team. The goals of this team are to (1) provide expert medical evaluation of Baltimore children with suspected abuse and neglect, (2) to increase communication between Child Protective Services, Child Abuse Pediatricians, and Primary Care Pediatricians through participation in multidisciplinary team meetings and sharing of information, and (3) to improve access to medical care and other health-related services through care coordination.
Goals
The overall goal of this project is to improve access to medical and other health-related services for children with suspected maltreatment and their families.
