Global Child Health
The American Academy of Pediatrics is dedicated to the health of all children. Globally, 6.6 million children—about 18,000 per day—died in 2012 of easily preventable or treatable causes. The United States and its partners have committed to ending preventable child deaths. The AAP supports this commitment and advocates for high-quality, high-impact maternal, newborn and child health interventions that save lives, promote healthy development, and strengthen children, families and communities.
