Advocacy has been consistently identified by AAP chapters as their top priority—with more than 90% participating in state-level activities. This type of engagement presents both opportunities and challenges. Striking the right balance between proactive initiatives and reacting to what else is “out there” requires planning, skill, and resources.
To assist AAP chapters in developing a state advocacy agenda, the AAP hosted a Webinar examining how the Washington, Iowa, and New Jersey chapters have developed agendas to fit their advocacy needs, engage chapter members and other stakeholders, and support AAP priorities.
