The American Academy of Pediatrics and the Abu Dhabi Early Childhood Authority have partnered to offer a training course on child developmental surveillance with a focus on the early years that will be mandated for all pediatricians in Abu Dhabi by the DOH.
The Early Childhood Authority (ECA), Department of Health (DOH) the National Academy for Childhood Development, and the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) have designed a course on developmental surveillance tailored for practicing pediatricians in Abu Dhabi. It includes a self-learning online module and a live, virtual module. This course serves as a first step in equipping pediatricians with the information and tools they need to support developmental surveillance.
There are 2 modules of the course, which have been customized to the needs of practicing pediatricians in Abu Dhabi.
- Self-learning online module: “Introduction to Developmental Screening and Surveillance” (30 min.)
- Completing the self-learning module is a pre-requisite to receive CME credit points and training completion certificate
- All registered pediatric care providers will have to complete the Self-learning module before their chosen live course (see below)
- A pre-course evaluation survey will be sent prior to the self-learning module
- Live, virtual module: “Putting Developmental Surveillance into practice & Communicating with Families” (5 hours)
- A post-course evaluation survey will be sent following the live module
