2020 Secretary/Treasurer and District II Chair

Warren M. Seigel, MD, MBA, FSAHM, FAAP, is the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) District II Chairperson and has been elected Secretary/Treasurer of the 2020 Board of Directors.

Dr Seigel is a New York native and is Chairman of Pediatrics and Director of Adolescent Medicine at Coney Island Hospital, Brooklyn, NY. He is associate professor of clinical pediatrics at SUNY-Health Science Center at Brooklyn, New York Institute of Technology/New York College of Osteopathic Medicine and Professor Clinical Pediatrics at St. George’s University School of Medicine, Grenada.

Dr Seigel completed his Residency in Pediatrics and a Fellowship in Adolescent Medicine at the Brookdale Hospital and Medical Center, Brooklyn, after receiving his medical degree from Universidad Centro de Estudios Tecnologicos (CETEC), Dominican Republic. He received an MBA in Health Care Management in 2011.

Experienced in committee, section, chapter and district activities, Dr Seigel was elected as the District Vice Chairperson for New York State in 2010 and is currently District Chairperson for District II New York. As District Chair, Dr Seigel continues to advocate for pediatricians, children and the families that we serve throughout New York State.

Well-known for his advocacy on behalf of primary care pediatricians and universal access to comprehensive health care services for patients of all ages in a medical home, he has testified before both the House and Senate in Washington, DC, advocating for increased access to primary health care services. Dr Seigel has also served on the AAP Section on Adolescent Health Executive Committee as membership chair and was a member of the Committee on Adolescence.
