Biographical Note

Richard L. Day, MD (1905-1989):

  • Graduated from Harvard Medical School in 1931.
  • Associate Professor at the College of Physicians and Surgeons at Columbia University 1935 -1953
  • Conducted research for the Climatic Research Laboratory 1943 - 1945
  • Chairman of the Downstate Medical School of the State University of New York Pediatric Department in New York from 1953-1956
  • Professor and Chairman of the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Pittsburg 1956-1965
  • National Medical Director for Planned Parenthood 1965-1968
  • Professor of pediatrics at Mount Sinai 1968-1971 (retired)
