The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and the AAP Section on Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery is proud to present a four-day, live virtual course, designed to strengthen your knowledge in the specialty of pediatric cardiology, whether you seek a review as part of exam preparation, or to help remain current in the field.

The 2024 CardioPREP: An Intensive Review and Update of Pediatric Cardiology Virtual Course provides a dynamic, comprehensive review of the field of pediatric cardiology, with an emphasis on organizing content to help those preparing for certification or re-certification in Pediatric Cardiology.

Course Objectives

  • Discuss principles of cardiovascular physiology and apply to pediatric cardiology practice
  • Review principles of cardiovascular pathology and integrate with diagnosis and treatment
  • Recognize pathological conditions relevant to pediatric cardiology
  • Demonstrate enhanced ability to identify abnormalities seen in cardiovascular studies
  • Differentiate cardiovascular conditions resulting from altered hemodynamics from similar appearing conditions produced by other pathologies
  • Demonstrate enhanced knowledge of diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular techniques
  • Discuss strategies for managing pre- and post-cardiac surgery patients
  • Discuss options for managing the cardiac transplant patient
  • Discuss principles of complex congenital heart disease and apply to pediatric cardiology practice
  • Demonstrate enhanced knowledge of diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular techniques including technique and management of left-right shunts
  • Identify areas of relative strength and weakness in knowledge, and assess knowledge gains

EARN 35 MOC PART 2 POINTS!
The Self-Assessment portion of this course is approved through the AAP MOC Portfolio Program for 35 points by the American Board of Pediatrics for MOC Part 2.

To earn MOC points participants must participate in the live online activity and/or view session recordings, and successfully complete a post-assessment test.

All approved activities must be completed by the MOC Credit Approval End Date. All deadlines and MOC point values should be confirmed by checking the ABP Activity Catalog within each physician’s ABP Portfolio. The AAP reserves the right to cancel a course due to unforeseen circumstances or to limit enrollments, should attendance exceed capacity. Course educational sessions are open only to registered attendees.

CANCELLATIONS
Registration cancellations for this course must be received in writing at registration@aap.org no later than July 5, 2024 to receive a refund. An administrative fee of $50 will be deducted. Refunds will not be issued at any time if the pre-course, on-demand sessions or materials have been accessed by the registrant at any time.

Allied Health Professional - 2024 CardioPREP: An Intensive Review and Update of Pediatric Cardiology - Virtual

The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

This program is accredited for 36.50 NAPNAP CE contact hours of which 0.00 contain pharmacology (Rx) content, (0.00 related to psychopharmacology) (0.00 related to controlled substances), per the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners (NAPNAP) Continuing Education Guidelines. The AAP is designated as Agency #A17. Upon completion of the program, each participant desiring NAPNAP contact hours must send a completed certificate of attendance to ce@napnap.org. Payment of $15 for NAPNAP members and nonmembers is required via credit card for all NAPNAP contact hour requests. Keep this certificate for your records for six (6) years. Requests for duplicate certificates should be made to the AAP.

PAs may claim a maximum of 36.50 Category 1 credits for completing this activity. NCCPA accepts AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ from organizations accredited by ACCME or a recognized state medical society.
