Stephanie Glier and Mandy Slutsker Join American Academy of Pediatrics’ Federal Advocacy Team

Washington, DC—The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) welcomes two new directors to its Washington, DC office:

• Stephanie Glier, MPH, will serve as a Director of Federal Advocacy overseeing a portfolio of issues focused on children's access to care, quality, and financing.
• Mandy Slutsker, MPH, will serve as Director of Global Child Health Advocacy, leading the AAP's efforts to champion global child health priorities to Congress, federal agencies, and global policy organizations.

Stephanie comes to the AAP after having spent the past five years in San Francisco working as a senior manager of national health policy for the Pacific Business Group on Health, a nonprofit organization composed of private employers and public agencies focused on creating increased value in the healthcare system. Prior to that, Stephanie worked in health policy in Washington, DC for several years, holding key positions for the Department of Health and Human Services Assistant Secretary for Planning and Evaluation, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, and the Commonwealth Fund.

Prior to joining the AAP, Mandy worked for more than nine years at RESULTS, a grassroots advocacy nonprofit organization focused on ending poverty. She brings a passion for children's health to her role, having worked on TB, HIV, vaccines, and child nutrition. Prior to RESULTS, Mandy worked at BRAC University's School of Public Health, John Snow, Inc., AIDSTAR-One Project, the National Institute of Health's Division of Occupational Health and Safety, and was an orphanage volunteer for young children in Khayelitsha, South Africa.
