Advertising aimed at children, like TV commercials, is nothing new. In today's digital landscape, however, marketing messages reach young people in less obvious but more direct ways. The AAP published a policy statement this week that reviews how easily children are influenced by advertising because their critical thinking skills and impulse control are not fully developed.
