Jennifer Shu, MD, FAAP, says parents shouldn't hesitate to contact their pediatrician with any health concerns during the pandemic. The article, Is it OK to call the pediatrician during COVID-19 even if I'm not sure my child is sick?, also describes appointments that should not be delayed, even during social distancing. She assures parents that pediatricians are taking steps to make sure it's as safe as possible for exams that need to happen in person, and that video visits may also be an option.
