The late Dr. John Routt Reigart was a pediatrician and professor emeritus of pediatrics at the Medical University of South Carolina. He was a former president of the South Carolina chapter of the AAP and a chair of the AAP Committee on Drugs. Dr. Reigart was an expert in pediatric toxicology, lead poisoning and pesticides, having led clinical trials and research since 1971. He also served in the U.S. Navy. Throughout his career, Dr. Reigart provided his expertise to numerous committees, boards and organizations dedicated to children’s health and testified before Congress on the issue of pesticides in food.
Christina A. Rostad, MD, FAAP

Dr. Christina A. Rostad is an associate professor of pediatrics and an attending physician in pediatric infectious diseases at Emory University School of Medicine and Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. She directs the Emory Children’s Center – Vaccine Research Clinic (ECC-VRC), where she leads a multi-disciplinary research group that performs vaccine clinical trials and infectious disease translational studies for children and adults. The overarching goal of her research is to protect the health and well-being of children by better defining the burden of infectious diseases and evaluating the safety and effectiveness of vaccines and treatments.
