Lewis First, MD, MS, FAAP, is Professor and Chair of the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Vermont (UVM) Larner College of Medicine, Chief of Pediatrics at the UVM Children’s Hospital, and editor-in-chief of the AAP’s peer-reviewed journal Pediatrics. Dr. First also educates the public weekly as a broadcaster and columnist with his “First with Kids” segments that appear on radio, television, and in local newspapers.
JoAnna Leyenaar, MD, PhD, MPH

Dr. Leyenaar is an Associate Professor and Vice Chair of Research for the Department of Pediatrics at Dartmouth Health. She also is a pediatric hospitalist and health services researcher. Her main areas of research include care coordination for children with chronic illnesses, urban-rural disparities in healthcare quality, hospital-to-home transitions, integration of mental and behavioral healthcare in pediatrics, and care of opioid-exposed infants.
