The AAP provides several options to meet Maintenance of Certification (MOC) requirements, as defined and monitored by the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP). AAP provides educational activities approved for MOC Part 2 credits and quality improvement projects for Part 4 credits.

Part 2: Lifelong Learning and Self-Assessment

The AAP offers many educational activities, including self-assessments, live activities, and journals, to help you assess and enhance your clinical knowledge and practice skills. These activities are designated not only for ABP MOC Part 2 points, but also for AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™.

The AAP offers several resources to help you earn MOC Part 4 points. Earning Points in Five-Year Cycle

To receive credit for Part 2 and Part 4 activities and maintain certification, you must earn a total of 100 points — a minimum of 50 for Part 2 and a minimum of 50 for Part 4 every five years. You can complete your Part 2 and Part 4 activities any time during your 5-year MOC cycle. To see your specific MOC requirements and deadlines, log into your ABP Portfolio.
