The Networks design, implement and evaluate scalable quality improvement opportunities in pediatric primary care and pediatric acute care settings.

The AAP Quality Networks provide collaborative opportunities to AAP members and their clinical care teamsto work together towards improving health outcomes for pediatric patients. Currently, there are two Quality Networks that offer opportunities to improve care in primary care or hospital-based settings.

Benefits of participating in an AAP Quality Networks offering may include:

  • Collaboration among clinicians, subject matter experts, patients/families, QI leaders, researchers, and community partners working together towards improvement goals
  • Promotion of peer to peer learning, patient safety & experience, innovation, and value in health care - often built into curriculum and project structure
  • Tools to build continuous process improvement initiatives that may evolve over time using the best evidence available to improve the quality of care delivered to pediatric patients
  • Facilitation and support by experts  in pediatric improvement science, technology, data analytics and change management/continuous improvement

Pediatric Acute & Critical Care (PACC) Quality Network

The Pediatric Acute & Critical Care Quality Network  focuses on common clinical conditions that may require a child to receive care in the hospital setting. The PACC Quality Network manages large scale QI collaboratives with hospitals across the United States, Puerto Rico and Canada.These collaboratives engage diverse hospitals from small community hospital pediatric units to large academic medical centers with free-standing children's hospitals and brings them together to work towards the common goal of improving care for children.

Pediatric Primary Care (PPC) Quality Network

The Pediatric Primary Care Network is the reimagined primary care network built upon previous work of the Chapter Quality Network (CQN) and Quality Improvement and Innovation Network (QuIIN). The PPC Quality Network provides QI offering to AAP members working in primary care settings and may work in partnership with AAP chapters. These collaboratives projects engage different structural types of pediatric primary care practices/groups and brings them together to work towards the common goal of improving care for children.

Quality Improvement Change Packages
