CHILD Registry™ Call for Pilot Sites

Prior to the launch of the CHILD Registry™ to all pediatricians, the Pilot Program will allow actual clinicians at pilot sites to test and provide feedback for improvement. These pilot sites will validate electronic health record (EHR) data, review and test content, and provide feedback on new content for the Registry.

The CHILD Registry™ is expanding the Pilot Program to include additional pilot sites. This will broaden the scope to include a wider range of commonly utilized EHRs in pediatrics, as well as greater diversity in patient populations and geographic location. This will ultimately help with the overall user experience and streamline participation when the CHILD Registry™ is launched to all pediatricians.

Over the course of an estimated 6–9-month period, Pilot Program participants will have the unique opportunity to participate as pioneers in this visionary program and provide recommendations that will help shape and enhance the CHILD Registry™ for the general launch. The cost of participation for pilots will be covered by the CHILD Registry™ for a duration of 3 years.

Because active CHILD Registry™ Pilot Program participants will provide continuous quality improvement recommendations to the Registry through testing content and reports, as well as validating data, it is anticipated the pilot process will meet The American Board of Pediatrics Maintenance of Certification (MOC) Part 4 requirements for clinicians engaged in this process as pilot sites. 

Participation in the CHILD Registry™ Pilot Program requires three lead roles for each pilot site: the Registry Champion, Site Technical Lead, and Site Clinical Lead. Additionally, each pilot site may have 2-5 Site Test Users. Role descriptions and estimated time commitments are detailed below.

• Registry Champion - The Registry Champion serves as the project manager and primary contact for the CHILD Registry™ Pilot Program for your site. For example, this person would coordinate meetings, drive task completion, and identify the internal SMEs and stakeholders for Pilot Program involvement. For this role, the estimated time commitment for the 6-9 month Pilot Program is 10-15 hours.
• Site Technical Lead - The Site Technical Lead is your technical expert in EHR data exchange and testing and will interface with data engineers from ArborMetrix (the technology vendor of the CHILD Registry™) through site onboarding. For example, this person would complete the data integration questionnaire, help coordinate data validation, and engage additional technical resources as needed (i.e., EHR vendor). For this role, the estimated time commitment for the 6-9 month Pilot Program is 15-20 hours.
• Site Clinical Lead - The Site Clinical Lead is your clinical expert who will review data requirements and ensure data quality during user acceptance testing (UAT). UAT provides a focused environment to iteratively test Registry functionalities, reports, measures, modules, and validate data. For example, this person would provide clinical guidance related to data and reports and serve as the clinical decision maker. For this role, the estimated time commitment for the 6-9 month Pilot Program is 15-20 hours.
• Site Test User  - A Site Test User is an individual at your practice who will participate in user acceptance testing (UAT) and participate in process improvements of the Registry functions and workflows. Additionally, these users would need to navigate the UAT environment to provide feedback on report visualizations and validate site data in UAT from a user interface perspective. For this role, the estimated time commitment for the 6-9 month Pilot Program is 15-20 hours.
