About the Helping Babies Breathe Program:

Helping Babies Breathe (HBB) improves neonatal resuscitation skills through hands-on learning and practice. The program is designed to teach the initial steps of neonatal resuscitation to be accomplished within The Golden Minute to save lives and give a much better start to many babies who struggle to breathe at birth. HBB neonatal resuscitation techniques have been shown to reduce neonatal mortality by up to 47% and fresh stillbirths by 24%.​​​

The New 2nd Edition of HBB has scientific updates to harmonize with 2015 ILCOR Consensus on Science with Treatment Recommendations and the 2012 WHO Basic Newborn Resuscitation Guidelines.  It also contains strengthened educational advice and new guidance on program implementation and quality improvement.

Provider Guide (HBB0020)

Designed for birth attendants, this guide can serve as training material during a course and as a supplemental resource to prepare for assisting birth. It enables the care provider, the pregnant woman and her family to prepare a birth plan and emergency plan during antenatal care.

Facilitator Flip Chart (HBB0021)*

Designed as an educational tool for HBB Master Trainers and Facilitators (Teachers) to teach neonatal resuscitation to health care providers (eg, trained birth attendants) in resource-limited environments, particularly in the developing world.  The flip chart includes pictorial material meant for discussion with learners that includes key messages at the back to guide trainers and facilitators.

Action Plan Wall Poster (HBB0022)

A simple, pictorial wall chart outlining the decision tree to follow when helping a newborn to breathe.

Facilitator Set (HBB0023)

A package offer that includes the Helping Babies Breathe Flip Chart (HBB0021)* and one copy of the Helping Babies Breath Provider Guide (HBB0020).
